Coolangatta Australia Info

Coolangatta Australia

"Coolangatta is on the border of Queensland and New South Wales therefore you have a variety of opportunities. There is the beauty of the Gold Coast and the beautiful beaches and theme parks, but also the hinterland of Qld/NSW - national parks, mountains, rainforests and rivers to explore. Coolangatta is a great place to base yourself and take the opportunity to tour the many attractions that are all in reach of a day trip. Here are a few that I would recommend.

Beaches - Greenmount and Rainbow Bay, all in walking distance of Coolangatta.
Shopping - Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, great shopping centres where you could spend the day. 30 minutes' drive from Coolangatta.
Theme Parks - Dream World, Movie World, Wet and Wild, all 30 minutes' drive from Coolangatta.
Service Clubs - Twin Towns RSL is in walking distance of the heart beat of Coolangatta.
Bush Walks - Mt. Warning National Park. If you are game and fit, put a few hours aside to climb this great mountain. When you reach the top, the view on a clear day is spectacular. Take it slow and easy to breathe in the beauty of this place... listen to the sounds of the water, birds and discover the small animals along the path. Watch out for the bush turkeys...no, they don't bite!!
Mt Tamborine is another great area to bush walk. It is in the hinterland area only 30 minutes from Coolangatta. Discover the many walking trails, cafes and markets in this piece of paradise. Gets a bit cool in the afternoon and especially winter months of June/July. Take a coat/jacket. O'Reilys is not to be missed. Great activities and holiday accommodation if you choose to get away from the Coast for a few days.
Markets - Take a trip to Chillingham, Uki 40 minutes from Coolangatta. Great Sunday markets.
A day trip not to be missed is a short drive 1 hour south of Coolangatta to Byron Bay. Walk to the lighthouse and you will have reached the most easterly point of Australia. Or just take in the culture of this place which is unique. Check out the shops and resturants. Lots of craft markets. A great day out!!
The opportunities for a great holiday in Coolangatta on Queensland's Gold Coast await you...come and discover the magic of this place and you will leave with good memories and a taste of Australian hospitality."

"There is so much to do around Coolangatta, especially if you have a car, take a drive to nearby Kingscliff, a neat as a pin beach suburb, or drive down to Byron Bay and see how the other half live. Byron Bay has an interesting mix of alternative lifestyle and professional people who live in this lovely beach suburb.
Or alternatively take a drive up to the hinterland to visit the craft places and wineries. There is so much to do around Coolangatta that you will never be bored.
Dreamworld, Seaworld, Movieworld and heaps of entertainment make Coolangatta a great place to stay.
Best Way to Get Around (i.e. walking, driving, taxis, public transportation etc.) A car is great way to visit this area however there is also a great public bus and train system available, and now that one can fly in and out of Coolangatta as it is a international airport it is so easy to access."
