New Zealand and Australia

In Auckland, be sure to go to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. At Tauranga, a friend met us at the pier and drove us down to Rotorua where we were taken to Whakarewarewa, a very famous thermal area. Whaka also offers Maori culture.
Christchurch is a lovely English style village, and Dunedin is a little bit of Scotland in New Zealand.
The fjords are breathtakingly beautiful.
Hobart, Tasmania is a charming little Australian town.
Melbourne was great. We stumbled upon a double decker British style red bus that sold twelve hour tickets for $2.50 per person (Senior rate)with unlimited on and off.
Sydney was the best of all as far as we were concerned. We enjoyed every bit of it, from the buskers (street entertainers) at the Harbourside complex to the Captain Cook Harbour Cruise.
We really exhausted ourselves while in Sydney. There was just so much to see and do.
Quick tips/suggestions
In Rotorua, be sure to go to Whakarewarewa- not to be missed.
Do try to get a ship or boat to take you through the New Zealand fjords.

In Melbourne, you simply must ride the red doubledecker.

In Sydney, I must heartily recommend Captain Cook's Harbour Cruises at Pier 6 Circular Quay.
See the Opera House.

Try these excellent restaurants in Sydney: Jordon's- at Darling Harbour, Harbourside complex. This seafood restaurant has the great Sydney Rock oysters.
Golden Century, located on Sussex Street in Chinatown. You won't believe the size of the portions. Don't miss it.
Doyle's, located on West Circular Quay. This place has excellent seafood.
City Extra, in the middle of Circular Quay is a great place for lunch.
Best Way to Get Around (i.e. walking, driving, taxis, public transportation etc.) In Sydney we got around by walking, and by taxi. There are buses and trams and a Metro, but the Australian dollar is so weak compared to ours, that we used taxis all the time.
