REYKJAVIK ON THE CHEAP -- A three-day midweek trip to Reykjavik costs $299 with a Midweek Madness package offered by Icelandair Holidays. The price is per person, double occupancy, and includes round-trip flights leaving the United States on Sunday night and returning on Wednesday night, or departing Monday night and returning Thursday night; two nights' hotel with Scandinavian buffet breakfast, and airport-hotel transfers. KOREA DISCOUNTS -- Utell International has a program called Korea Welcomes Visa that offers discounts of up to 40 percent at nine hotels through July 31, 1999; in addition to properties in Seoul, they include the Hyundai Hotel in Kyongju, where the rate is $75 on weekdays, based on 1,300 won to the dollar, and $86 on Saturdays; the Shilla Hotel in Cheju ($126 on weekdays, $150 on Saturday through Monday) and the Lotte Hotel in Pusan ($97). GALAPAGOS FOR LESS -- Metropolitan Touring has cut prices on its Galapagos cruise packages by $280 to $847 a person to reintroduce its Santa Cruz, the 90-passenger flagship, which is scheduled to return to service tomorrow after extensive renovations and lengthening. The savings apply to most departures between Nov. 23 and Jan. 25 except for the holiday period of Dec. 21 to Jan. 4. Great Value packages combine a three-, four- or seven-night cruise with a four-night stay in Quito. Prices include meals and sightseeing during the cruise; lodging and daily American breakfast at the hotel in Quito; some sightseeing in and around Quito; flights between Quito and Baltra in the Galapagos, and all airport transfers. Rates range from $1,598 to $1,880 on the seven-night package; $1,787 to $2,097 on the eight-night, and $2,444 to $2,768 on the 11-night.
