Best Ages for This Attraction: 4 and up.
Most Fun for Adults: The vast tanks of beautiful fish presented in clean and artful ways. This is one of the best aquariums in the world.
Price Per Person (if applicable): about Aus$20 for adults
Favorite Part of the Day: Situated by the Pymont Bridge, the location of this aquarium is ideal. Of course, my favorites are always the penguins!
Most Fun for Kids: If screams are any indication, the sharks tanks! A long walk down a windy pathway leads to the chance to walk (dry as a bone) through these tanks. Very impressive.

What it's like:
Sydney is about the sea and sea life. The favorite restaurant food is seafood, but here at the Aquarium you get to see, learn about and appreciate some of what you have been munching on. Masses of school tours kept the volume level up to nearly painful for adults as the children expressed their glee and interests in the live exhibits. Always busy, this is a great way to spend a couple hours. On the Sydney Explorer bus route (red bus) and the monorail station is not far away. A bit too far to walk from Circular Quay, but the ferries and various commercial boats will take you to the Aquarium. The gift shop features nearly all items of interest to children. Only a few T-shirts in adult sizes. Ideal grandparent shopping, however.
The penguin exhibit is wonderful as what they now call 'little' penguins (the fairie penguins of old) have a very nice place to swim and live. Not the best place in the world for photography, but I tried.
In general this place is handicapped accessible. Very, very little parking for cars. The layout is set up for public transportation. About a 10 minutes walk from the Omni theatre, Maritime Museum and Monorail station.
